About Chime sharp
OK. Hi. I'm Ste. I'll keep this brief: In 2009 I directed a brilliant game called Chime. I've worked on a lot of games, good and bad, but Chime is my favourite and the one of which I'm the most proud. Now I've been handed an opportunity to make a sequel -- and I'd like your help to do that.
What is Chime?
Chime is a music puzzle game, initially prototyped by "The Lab", a team I ran while I worked at Zoë Mode. People have compared it to Lumines, but I always describe it as part-sequencer, part-Tetris. You place pieces on a grid and those pieces are read as sounds by a beatline. As you tessellate the pieces to cover the playfield you both augment and progress through a piece of music.
Chime is both addictive and ambient, competitive and relaxing. But this is a music game -- words can't do it justice -- and the best way to understand is to play.
How to Play (the basics)
Place shapes to create quads. Create quads to cover grid. Cover the grid to win.
Quads
Make quads by placing shapes on empty parts of the grid.
Placing shapes in solid blocks of 3x3 (or more) makes a quad.
Quads stay active for a short amount of time.
The Beatline
When a quad fills up, it stops being active and your score points.
The beatline move across the grid in time with the music.
When the beatline hits the squad, it is stamped down on to the grid.
Covering the Grid
When a quad is stamped down, that part of the grid is marked as covered.
Get time bonuses by covering more of the grid.
Shape Fragments
They are leftlovers of a squad.
they lose life each time the beatline passes over them.
If one fragment loses all of it's life, all fragments on the grid disappear.
Fragments can be saved by using them to build quads.
Score multipliers
Every time you make a quad, you build up a score multiplier.
High multiplier = more points.
If you lose any fragments, you lose your score multiplier.

Chime Sharp est un puzzle musical mixant un séquenceur musical avec un système d'assemblage de tétriminos (les pièces que l'on retrouve dans Tetris): le joueur dispose des tétriminos pour former des blocs rectangulaires et couvrir ainsi le maximum de la surface de l'air de jeu (et obtenir le maximum de points). Une beatline (une ligne qui se déplace de gauche à droite sur l'écran en lisant cette "partition", à la manière d'un séquenceur) vient lire ces blocs formant un morceau musical.
Qu'est-ce que Chime ?
Les gens l'ont comparé à Lumines, mais je l'ai toujours décris comme en partie un séquenceur, en partie un Tetris. Vous placez des morceaux (NdT : des tétriminos) sur une grille et ces morceaux sont lus comme des sons par une beatline (NdT : une ligne de rythme, une ligne qui se déplace sur l'écran en lisant cette "partition"). En Tessellisant (NdT : assemblez) les pièces pour couvrir la surface de jeu vous augmentez et progressez simultanément dans un morceau musical.
Comment y jouer ? (version simplifiée)
Disposez des formes (NdT : des tétriminos) pour créer des rectangles. Créez ces rectangles pour couvrir la grille. Couvrez la grille pour gagner.

Le studio est parvenu à lever les fonds nécessaire sur le site Kickstarter, il est à présent disponible à la vente.
Kickstarter est un site de sponsoring de projets permettant - en ce qui concerne les jeux, aux joueurs et aux développeurs de financer le développement de jeux sans le carcan des maisons d'édition. Les studios obtiennent le pré-financement de leur production, les joueurs bénéficient d'avantages proportionnels au montant de leur participation (tarif avantageux, personnalisations, ...) sans garantie de résultat.
Financement clôt mi Août 2015 (17K£ sur Kickstarter).
